ARID Zones
Arid zones are known for their dry landscape with low level of moisture. This often inhospitable landscape sees little rainfall and can have a desert or semi-desert terrain.
The open plains mean high winds aren’t uncommon, due to the lack of vegetation which would normally break down windspeed. These winds can also arrive in the form of a sandstorm, which can pose a threat to neighbouring fertile ground as it can damage crops on surrounding cultivated land. The soil in Arid Zones is usually compact, leaving it less porous to absorb rainfall. Therefore, Arid Zones can also experience flash flooding. Times of year must be taken into consideration when travelling to these destinations.
