Damp Tropical Regions
Damp Tropical Regions are found near the equator and are normally hot and wet all year round. It’s estimated that tropical regions are three times wetter than temperate regions, with frequent thunderstorms. The cloud cover ensures that temperatures do not sink during the night, resulting in warm evenings and nights.
Increased levels of humidity can make temperatures feel a lot higher than they are, leading to clammy or a ‘close’ atmosphere.
However, warm and humid conditions are the perfect conditions for insects such as mosquitoes which can carry malaria. Make sure you take extra care to deter mosquitos by covering up skin and using insect–repellent clothing such as NosiLife.
