Temperate Regions
Temperate regions can be found in countries which are located between subtropics and polar circles. There are four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. Transitions between seasons are gradual, with no ‘dry’ or ‘rainy’ season.
Areas with a temperate climate often see hot summers and cold winters. Extreme weather is rare, but global warming can also disrupt the natural rhythm of these seasons.
Levels of severity for each season may differ depending on the geographical location of the country. Temperature changes are influenced by elements such as latitudinal position, sea currents and wind direction.

Ambassador Focus:
Connie Allen
Our Ambassador Connie is an Ethologist, someone who studies the behaviour of animals. She also has a great eye for photography and she travels widely, capturing amazing wildlife images. When she is not spending her time in Botswana studying elephants, she is in Switzerland writing up her PhD. Switzerland is known for its moderate climate and so Connie lives in her NosiLife shorts and short sleeved shirts, opting for a recycled Miska Microfleece for when the weather gets cooler.
