Garden Party
Victor Caire
It all started at animation school, with 6 students sharing their passion for realistic images and animal wildlife. Animals are great characters to tell a story. Their primal behaviour makes them fascinating. It’s easy for the viewer to connect with, to understand their goals. We wanted to use their power of attraction to trick the audience, to turn the film into something unexpected. Another layer in the narration, hidden behind those insignificant little frog's stories.
This is how Garden Party came out, a crossover between BBC wildlife and Alfred Hitchcock movies.
Students first care about making a piece they can be proud of. Winning this prize shows how people appreciate the short. It gives us such happiness and pushes us to keep making films with our heart.
