Purchase a reliable wash in reproofer before advancing with any of the following steps. You can buy wash in reproofer from Craghoppers here. Our wash in proofer kits provide up to three separate washes.
Step 2Before applying any reproofer to the waterproof jacket, it is best practice to wash your jacket with a non-abrasive material such as a thin cloth or towel. This is important because it removes any excess dirt and mud from the jacket which could prevent the proofer from working to its full capacity.
Step 3Once the jacket is fully dried, make sure all the pockets are zipped up and that your washing machine’s detergent tray is empty of any normal washing detergent. Once completed, follow the instructions on your proofer, and wash your jacket in line with the recommended temperature and time. Only wash a single item of clothing at a time as this will improve effectiveness.
Step 4If your jacket can be tumble dried then start a drying cycle for your jacket, if not then hang your jacket out to dry.
Step 5Once dry, your jacket should be as good as new and is back to being waterproof!
