What Is GORE-TEX?

GORE-TEX is so renown in the industry because it is able to combine both waterproof and breathability elements into its fabrics. This means that with GORE-TEX apparel, the technology will keep water out, but allow moisture to escape. Travellers world-wide have been putting GORE-TEX Products through its paces for years. How Does GORE-TEX Work?
GORE-TEX is formed from expanded polytetrafluorethylene (E-PTFE) a material that can withstand adverse weather conditions and but allow low water absorption. This material is what makes up the GORE-TEX membrane, which is the centre of GORE-TEX’s waterproof capabilities. GORE-TEX products also include sealed seems via long strips of sealant tape, ensuring that their garments are totally waterproof.
